MyAccessibleHome aims to empower people to remain in their homes by providing expert-level recommendations, even when access to an expert is not available.

Our Journey

From Concept to Trusted Home Safety Solution

Our research and development process started in 2014. Despite expert professionals being available in some cities and regions to support aging-in-place and living independently with disabilities, a major gap remained. First, people with disabilities and aging adults largely lacked access to expert providers. Even if a rehabilitation professional was available to support independent living goals, many rehabilitation professionals lacked the extensive training and expertise needed to perform complex home safety modification recommendations. Furthermore, the existing home safety assessments remained narrowly focused on environment only, lacking consideration of the big picture comprised of how environment, personal factors, and daily tasks shape engagement in the home.

MyAccessibleHome was inspired by a desire to help individuals with disabilities live more independently at home. Through extensive research and collaboration with experts in home safety and accessibility, we launched our apps, which has continually evolved based on user feedback and advancements in technology.

Since our inception, we have remained dedicated to creating impactful solutions and have gained recognition for our innovative approach to home safety.
